Stewardship

STEWARDSHIP

Our congregation is self-supporting. As members and friends, we find spiritual growth in each other’s company while we share in the support of our programs and care of our facilities. We lend our time and talent to various activities that support the WUU mission, and we make a pledge of support as individuals and families toward meeting our operating budget. The WUU Board charged the Stewardship Committee with coordinating these efforts.

HONORING TIME AND TALENT and ACKNOWLEGING NEEDS

The Stewardship Committee is aware of the many volunteer hours devoted to our congregation and of the many talented people who give joyously and selflessly to our community. We are grateful for your efforts. We want to hear from you and help others learn of your good work. In the course of our work, we also connect those with unmet needs to persons who can help, such as our Minister or the Caring Committee. We also plan programs on how each of us can better understand the role of giving as an instrument of grace in our lives.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?

The WUU fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. In February and March, members and friends receive information about plans for programming and the money needed for the coming year’s operations.  During this time, each of us is asked to consider our commitment to WUU and to pledge a contribution which is affordable and reflects our commitment to the community we have built. More specific information is available on the Annual Pledging page.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!

The WUU congregation brought us together and its vision and mission is important to each of us and to the community at large. We have a shared responsibility as stewards to grow this spiritual home for ourselves and as a vital and loving legacy to those who will come after us. We welcome your participation in our efforts and look forward to the opportunity to acknowledge your support and hear from you throughout the year.
