  • Appoint a meeting convener
  • Develop an agenda (and distribute in advance)
  • Agree to
    • Start and end meeting on time
    • Allow substitutes or not
    • Clarify decision making process
    • Assign or take volunteers for accountability for assignments
    • Conduct a process analysis at the end of the meeting and appoint a process watcher

  • Create Sacred Space: Light a chalice, share a reading or moment of silence

  • Create Community: Check-in or share reflections on a targeted question

  • Prioritize agenda topics, set time estimates for each, and appoint a timekeeper

  • Check process, e.g.

    • “Are we on/off track?”
    • “Do we have buy-in?”
    • “Suggest we work the details off line”

  • Propose topics for next meeting agenda
  • Create a meeting record

    • Record all action items, assigned leads and deadlines
    • Distribute to all
