Without the question mark, a long-ago Unitarian leader gave this name to an essay on what holds us together. Now, after over a century of similar efforts, our national leadership is at it again-this time, a revision of the UU Principles and Purposes. Why do we keep running around this track? Is something more profound at stake than the need for institutional cohesion?
