Lighting the Chalice
Susan Marcinkus

We light this chalice
for the warmth of love;
for the light of truth;
for the energy of action;
and for the harmony of peace:
Peace in our hearts,
peace in our community,
and peace in our world.

Each month we Share the Plate with one of the local organizations that provides a much needed service to our community. It offers us an opportunity to extend our compassion to others in need. This week, your contributions will go to Navigators USA, Chapter 36. This local chapter, sponsored by WUU, is now in its tenth year. It is secular, open to any gender, orientation, ability, and familial makeup. With an emphasis on family participation, the chapter draws kids from the wider community as well as our congregation. Activities include camp-outs, hikes, outdoor games, nature orientation, an annual pinewood derby, and community service. After a hiatus for safety due to the pandemic, the chapter looks forward to restarting programming in 2022. For more information, you can email the Chapter at chapter36@navigatorsusa.org. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Extinguishing the Chalice
Susan Marcinkus

We extinguish this flame,
but not the light of truth,
the warmth of community,
or the fire of commitment.
These we carry in our hearts
until we are together again.
