Sunday, August 4, at 10:00 am: “Exploring Liminal Space,” Liz Wiley, Worship Committee Chair

What is liminality? the unsettling uncertainty of what might be next? floating in a state of transition? or the magic between wick and flame? Come, let us dip our toes in the sea and see what we find.

WUU Worship Chair Liz Wiley will be our lay leader on August 4th. Liz has long been a practitioner of theatre and ritual, of voice and movement, story and song. In other words, playing with how one can be transported.

Sunday, August 11, at 10:00 am: “Bring in the Candles!” Rev. Michelle Collins, Interim Minister

The past few years have been rough ones in our country and in our world. We can expect that the coming year will have its share of challenges. What do we need to carry with us into the times ahead? We’ll start with an older Unitarian text, which is just as relevant today as when it was written.

Special music provided by singer/songwriter Heather Jinmaku.

Sunday, August 18, at 10:00 am: “Moments That Bring Awakening,” Rev. Michelle Collins, Interim Minister

Throughout many different religion’s histories there have been many moments of awakening and insight that have shaped that religion and human history. In our own lives, moments of awakening and insight likewise shape ours. We’ll take a romp through many of these today.

Special music provided by Dave Beals, Jane Ferguson, and John Trindle.

Sunday, August 25, at 10:00 am: “What Happened to You?” Rev. Michelle Collins, Interim Minister

Stresses and challenges can come to us in many ways, and they leave different imprints on us, some of them lasting. Today we’ll talk about some of the realities of trauma, how it shows up in our lives and our bodies, and what grace we can extend to ourselves and others when we are facing it.

Special music provided by Jane Ferguson, Vicki Hall, Katrina Landon, Chris Llewellyn, John Riofrio, Rachel Townsley, John Trindle, and Liz Wiley.
