WUU Worship Chair Liz Wiley will be our lay leader on August 4th. Liz has long been a practitioner of theatre and ritual, of voice and movement, story and song. In other words, playing with how one can be transported.

The past few years have been rough ones in our country and in our world. We can expect that the coming year will have its share of challenges. What do we need to carry with us into the times ahead? We’ll start with an older Unitarian text, which is just as relevant today as when it was written.

Throughout many different religion’s histories there have been many moments of awakening and insight that have shaped that religion and human history. In our own lives, moments of awakening and insight likewise shape ours. We’ll take a romp through many of these today.

Stresses and challenges can come to us in many ways, and they leave different imprints on us, some of them lasting. Today we’ll talk about some of the realities of trauma, how it shows up in our lives and our bodies, and what grace we can extend to ourselves and others when we are facing it.
