Our adventure together is beginning. I am truly excited to begin this interim ministry with you. As we embark on this journey together, I am filled with anticipation and gratitude for the opportunity to serve this vibrant community.
I have served in a number of UU congregations spread from the east coast to the west (literally). Throughout my journey, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with diverse communities, each with its unique strengths and challenges. These experiences have shaped my understanding of faith, community, and the transformative power of love and compassion.
As an Interim Minister, I understand my role to be that of a bridge, a facilitator who helps the congregation transition from what was to what will be. My goals are both to provide stability and continuity while also preparing the congregation for the arrival of a new settled minister as well as working together with you on your needs so that you can become an ever stronger and more resilient congregation. I am here to listen, to learn, and to lead with love and respect for the rich history and traditions of WUU.
In the coming months, I look forward to getting to know each of you personally. I am eager to hear your stories, understand your hopes and dreams for our congregation, and learn how we can together build a community that reflects our shared values and vision. I am also excited about the opportunity to explore new ideas and initiatives with you. As we navigate this period of transition, let us view it not as a time of uncertainty, but as a time of possibilities and growth. Together, we can create a space that nurtures spiritual exploration, fosters deep connections, and serves as a beacon of hope and love in our wider community.
As we embark on this journey together, let us remember the words of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” Together, we will navigate the waters of change and transition, guided by our shared faith and commitment to one another.
With blessings and anticipation,
Rev. Michelle
