Sometimes we all need a helping hand. The caring community at WUU offers a range of supportive services to fellow congregants at times of need:
Care and Support
Rev. Michelle Collins and our team of trained Lay Pastoral Care Associates (LPCAs) and caring volunteers are available for pastoral care, urgent assistance, and home and hospital visits. If you have a personal or family emergency and need help right away, please call 757-220-6830 and press 9. Your call will be automatically transferred to Rev. Michelle or an LPCA. If you do not need immediate emergency assistance, please contact our Caring Team at caring@wuu.org or 757-220-6830 to get connected with help. Our current LPCAs are: Sean Klaver, David Hopkinson, Janna Roche, and Anne Stevens.
If you have a joy or sorrow that you would like mentioned in the worship service or otherwise made known to the congregation, please contact office@wuu.org.
Rides and meals
We offer rides, meals, and help with errands to congregants recovering from illness or welcoming a new baby. We can also help you connect with community agencies like Faith in Action and Meals on Wheels that can offer additional support. To request help, please contact caring@wuu.org.
