Golden OWL for 55+

by Natalie Miller-Moore, OWL Facilitator

As part of WUU’s commitment to lifelong learning, and our belief that sexuality is part of the human experience the entire time…

We’re excited to announce a new Our Whole Lives class for adults 55 and over!

The curriculum, released by the UUA in 2021, includes exploring ideas about sexuality and values, and even if you think you know what yours may be, it will be a conversation about the evolving language and constructs in our culture. There are some specialized topics including dating as an older adult, reframing sexuality, disability and chronic illness, dealing with loss, consent, boundaries and intimacy. Your facilitators (Liz Wiley and Natalie Miller-Moore) will create an environment centered on open, respectful education and conversation over the course of 8 sessions.

In order to chat further about what appeals most to our potential group members, we’re going to have a series of café conversations — no obligation to attend the class if you want to join us. We’ll chat about some of the new terminology (things like pansexual, cisgender, polyamory, aromantic) as well as what you didn’t learn in formal sexual education that you wish you had!

Café conversation 1: After the July 30th Sunday service (drop in) 11:30 -1 pm
Café conversation 2: Tuesday evening, August 1st (please register) 6 pm to 7:30 in room 106 (YRUU/teen room)
Café conversation 3:  Tuesday evening, August 22nd (please register) 6 pm to 7:30 in the Little Sanctuary
Café conversation 4: After the August 27th Sunday service (drop in) 11:30 -1 pm
