President’s Report, June 2021

June 2021

Dear WUU Community,

At our last board meeting I was elected WUU Board President for the 2021-22 term. I am deeply humbled by the level of support I have received as I attempt to quickly learn the responsibilities of the office, and as I begin to lead the Board though the challenges facing our congregation brought on by the global pandemic. Please extend grace and compassion to the Board, as we tackle the complexities of reopening our spiritual home. To that end, if you have not done so, please respond to the survey sent by our reopening task force so that it will inform them in their decision making.

I wanted to let you know that one of our Board members, Ariel BenYishay, has stepped down from the Board. On behalf of the Board, I wish to thank Ariel for his service to our Congregation. In accordance with Article IX (1a), the Nominating Committee shall nominate at least one candidate for each open position on the Board. Once the Nominating Committee provides a name to the Board (Article VII:1) the Board may appoint a member to serve until the next annual winter meeting when the Congregation shall elect a member to serve any remainder of the unexpired term.

In summary, please know that in my role as WUU Board President, I will always strive to serve the needs of the entire congregation and place our Mission at the forefront of Board decisions. I am excited and honored to serve.

Respectfully,

Katrina G. Landon, WUU Board President
