“Among the First” by Rev. Jennifer Ryu

The first three African American ministers to be ordained by the Universalist denomination worked in Norfolk and Suffolk. They were especially instrumental in advancing education in the Black community. This worship service corresponds with the first reunion of the Jordan School in Suffolk, which will be held the first weekend in September.  Stay after the service for special presentations from Joseph Fletcher Jordan’s descendants and historian, Will Frank.
