“Parents Should Be Seen and Not Herd”—that’s right. by Rev. Preston Moore
They should let their children see them, really see them; and they should not herd their children like sheep in the care of sheep dogs. Children need examples—grown up, complicated, flawed ones—of what it means to be human. Fortunately, most of humanity is eminently qualified to provide that, but letting ourselves be seen is not so simple. Come celebrate the joys and anxieties of parenting as we honor both fathers and mothers on Father’s Day.
