Sunday, February 19, at 10:00 am: “You Might Just Be a Humanist!” led by Gene Roche, Guest Worship Leader

In this service we reflect on the role of inquiry and science in shaping Unitarian Universalism thought. Humanism is an important part of UU’s history as Unitarian ministers and theologians were the primary designers of the 1933 document launching contemporary religious Humanism in the United States. National surveys have found that as many as half of UU’s identify as Humanist. Might you be one?

Gene Roche retired from William & Mary after 22 years as Director of Academic Information Services and professor in the School of Education. During his career, he has been a member of the Association of Professional Futurists, visiting scholar for University Libraries and a fellow in the Center for Innovation in Learning Design. In 2019, he received William & Mary’s Aceto Award for exceptional excellence to the campus community. He’s been a Humanist since 1969.
