“Rest in Your Beauty”

Rev. Laura Horton-Ludwig, Minister

Our UU religious ancestors believed hard work (and its resulting tiredness) was next to Godliness. But these days, is a gospel of hard work really what will heal us? Today’s service honoring International Workers’ Day invites you to try on a different vision of human life, inviting in rest and play for everyone.

“Judgment-Free Zone”

Rev. Laura Horton-Ludwig, Minister

Part of nurturing beauty is learning how to get past the urge to judge and criticize others. You’ll get to try out some simple practices to set judgment aside and make room for appreciating others exactly as they are. And maybe yourself too….

“Woven in a Single Garment of Destiny”

“We are not alone, though sometimes we forget that truth. We are woven into one cloth, one gorgeous blanket, designed for use, for comfort, to sustain and to love…”
—Rev. Dr. Sarah Lenzi

“Woven in a Single Garment of Destiny” is a full-length video worship service exploring and celebrating hallmarks of our Unitarian Universalist theology. We’re all connected: an interdependent whole. Therefore, says Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray, “covenant is our religious response to our fundamental interdependence.” The liturgist for this service, Rev. Erika Hewitt (UUA Minister of Worship Arts), coordinated a wide range of leaders for you to enjoy—including two original songs composed just for this service.

While some may choose not to join us in the Sanctuary for a video service on Memorial Day weekend, your Ministry Team sees this as an opportunity to share together a specially produced service that UU congregations around the country are enjoying. In addition to fellowship before and after we will be showing everyone some new great changes in the playground, including the long awaited shade canopy, garden changes and where the new sandbox will be. Come let us worship and enjoy our campus together this holiday weekend!
