A big thank you to all the folks who came out to fly a kite, about 16 people in total tried their hand at casting a kite into the wind on March 28th.
Besides being good old fashioned fun, this was a wonderful opportunity to affirm our first Source: Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in all cultures, which moves us to a renewal of the spirit and an openness to the forces which create and uphold life.
Flying a kite can teach us about the powers of observation and being in the present moment. Flying a kite high in the sky all the way to the end of the kite string exhilarated and was truly a force to behold. The kite tails danced in the strong wind, about 10 miles per hour with gusts of up to 20 miles per hour, and the kites were upheld by this strong wind. Folks swapped kites in mid air to try their hand at a new kind of kite now and again, and through the kite string, we could feel the twists and turns of the wind.
Much laughter and merriment was had, truly a renewal of the spirit. Thank you to all who participated in this event!
