Join Us Tuesday to Learn More about Journey to Asylum: An Immigrant Justice Initiative

By the Social Justice Team

Are you eager to learn more about the exciting new Social Justice program, Journey to Asylum? Want to know how you can help change the life of a migrant family even as you shelter at home? Join us on Tuesday, June 2, at 7pm via Zoom (meeting link: https://zoom.us/j/92537206900?pwd=dUkydWNOaVY3KzBCVlZkbjJlVy9aZz09).

As people of conscience, we are called to do this work, to respond to the injustice of an immigration system that dehumanizes migrants and establishes prohibitive legal hurdles to safe haven in this country.  As UUs, our commitment to respect the inherent worth and dignity of all people demands that we serve the most vulnerable populations in ways that make a difference in their lives.  Especially in these uncertain times, providing a safe home to our migrant neighbors is more important than ever.

Our first family will be joining us at the end of June, and preparations are under way for the many ways we’ll be partnering with them on their journey – from housing and English language support, to legal counsel and therapeutic healing. And most of all, we’ll be offering a welcoming community where they can start their lives anew–and we’ll need everyone’s help along the way. Please join us on Tuesday to learn how.
