Lighting the Chalice
Susan Walkley

We light this chalice
for the warmth of love;
for the light of truth;
for the energy of action;
and for the harmony of peace:
Peace in our hearts,
peace in our community,
and peace in our world.

Our third Sunday collection goes to Williamsburg Community Growers, a charity dedicated to educating the public on the benefits of growing your own food. WCG provides gardening space for individuals, families, and organizations within their 10-acre site in James City County. Approximately half of their harvest is donated to local food banks. Organizations that have benefited from fresh produce donations include Williamsburg House of Mercy, Grove Christian Outreach, St. Olaf Food Pantry, FISH Inc., and Hampton Roads Refugee Relief. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Extinguishing the Chalice
Susan Walkley

We extinguish this flame,
but not the light of truth,
the warmth of community,
or the fire of commitment.
These we carry in our hearts
until we are together again.
